That time Waylon Krieger was playing a show in Pittsburgh at Rosebud with his father Robby Krieger of the Doors with Jim Morrison and my wife asked me after the show who I wanted to talk with as Waylon & I had an incredibly cool introduction in serendipitous fashion at Live Wire Recordings in Fla (where upon doing a couple numbers taking lead vocal with Post Face meeting Waylon & a crew when we opened the doors from our studio recording suite I later jumped in the Atlantic Ocean with all my clothes on from up the eastern seaboard in Pittsburgh and Waylon's phone number he wrote on paper washed away that was proudly in my Levi's & I assured him whatever we did musically had to make money because my father would dis-own me) and yet there was Robby Krieger of the Doors who I also had an incredible encounter with (that I also blew like a clown at the last minute) previously but after meeting Roby's son Waylon ... Both encounters granting me an affirmation, confirmation, verification, situation I thought I needed (& maybe that's true) and so my wife approaches Waylon with my story & we end up back of the club where Waylon is with my wife's cousin Lori.

Roky Erickson & the 13th Floor Elevators are the first rock and roll band to describe their music as “psychedelic"
His 1969 arrest in Texas for possession of a single marijuana cigarette led to his being committed for three years to Rusk State Hospital for the Criminally Insane, where he was reportedly subjected to Thorazine, electroshock therapy, and other experimental treatments.
His youngest brother, singer/songwriter and former Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra Principal Tubaist Sumner Erickson, was appointed Roky's legal guardian in June, 2001. Sumner has established The Roger Kynard Erickson Trust to address Roky's living expenses, medical bills, and other financial needs. From June, 2001 until July, 2002, Roky lived with his brother in Pittsburgh, where he finally began to receive the treatment and care he needs. Roky is now back in Austin, where his health continues to improve dramatically. In March, 2005, Roky made his first public performance in 10 years performing 3 songs at the Roky Erickson Psychedelic Ice Cream Social at Threadgills in Austin.

How the Hippies Still Own Music World 2015: Hippie-Music Vs. Hip-Hop Has President Obama Weighing-in Quoting Jerry Garcia
on the biggest weekend celebration of every year, seeing the sea of good spirit at Solider Field with the Chicago skyline sparkling in full on dusk of July and hearing how cosmically poignant "the core four" Grateful Dead were in welcoming Trey Anastasio who was comfortable in conversing in his own phrasing yet w/ a ying-&-yang natural flow channeling Jerry Garcia gave me chills... Moreover, the young vibrant smoking hot women the camera kept finding never seemed to stop dancing & smiling proving the Grateful Dead are still efficient in turning people on & influencing others in 2015 = and the brand is strong & the product sounds better & as fresh as any hip-hop or rap out today.
the difference in quality product value of music between a band like the Grateful Dead and that of a Kanye West is that in Pythagorean fashion the Grateful Dead play as one organism creating a pattern of notes and chords that elevates, elates & enlightens levels of self awareness & cosmic consciousness with an intent & method meant to heal the soul like medicine is applied to the body whereas the impetousness of machoism is the fabric & foundation of Kanye Wests music celebrating death, violence & dominance over other "lesser" people & peers with a banging thud, thud, thud … thud, thud thud … thud, thud, thud … the bass is always low end bottom feeder brand flashing a gangster ghetto pride that you may not make it out alive unlike the African, South American & Middle Eastern rhythmic drumming of professorial like roles of the dual drummers of the Grateful Dead.
Bobby & Phil seem to be enjoying being able to deliver these "aces back to back" …

Making Serendipity Happen in Hollywood: how to get what you need true story
True Story:
Books can help provide keys to unlock doors of infinite & sometimes serendipitous possibilities.
Jim Sheridan the famous director of Hollywood blockbusters such as In The Name of the Father and The Boxer commented on the hard-covered book I was reading poised poolside in West Hollywood, California at Hollywood's industry hot-spot Chateau Marmont. Interestingly enough that provided me with the opportunity to place Jim Sheridan, his wife & daughter on the guest list of Pittsburgh's own Rusted Root on summer tour with a show at House of Blues Sunset Strip the next night. Turns out as happenstance would have it Bill Siddons who managed The Doors was managing Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root's solo career and he was like"how did you get Michael's favorite Hollywood director here tonight?" ...Which started a whole other conversation as the book Jim Sheridan commented on I was reading at Chateau Marmont was The Living Theatre: art, exile & outrage ... Jim Morrison of the Doors was a big fan ...

"Mario Lemieux is My Best Friend" reality TV pitch
This morning on WDVE Pittsburgh producers were on the air with the everyday morning crew announcing that they are looking for Pittsburgh people who are characters to do the next big thing in reality TV.
They want Pittsburgh people everywhere to pitch them an idea.
So in 5minutes with time to sip my La Prima coffee I wrote this pitch and emailed in it to DVE (although I don't want my own reality tv show nor do I want to be on a reality tv show so this is not written for me):
This character has just enough access to a circle outside the inner circle of Mario Lemieux & family that the viewer does get a good glimpse at Mario & his family
However it's kinda a little mysterious as to why the deal is never really closed whereas Mario or his family's really never direct exclusively is seen interacting with character "Mario's my best friend" ... But the confidence of the character & the authority in which it's filmed within the handlers, hanger-ons, assistants, chefs, drivers, lesser players, country clubs, hockey rings, wine stores, paddle tennis tournaments, etc. the viewer is so enamored with this access they are already hooked on the voyeurism that the credibility of the character doesn't actually get questioned.
Turmoil drama sometimes seems to rock it though every once in a while when the inner circle of Mario & sometimes Mario himself looks out from within like "what the hell are you crazy person & support friends of hers (or I mean his) doing?!" ... And some of the verbals from the Mario camp caught on camera towards character sometimes seems to may even sink in yet the character always finds excuses for herself and lies her way out of it (that they are really just stalking & spying and all sorts of crazy) ... Character is always able to convince herself she's in the inner circle and in return always able to manipulate support characters, Thus, the viewers continue to be manipulated and hang on to too
(Kinda like a Bowfinger starring Eddie Murphy)

at the sides of a colossal gate of an ancient temple in-tune with more than common
awareness surrounding
while people are doing a daily routine some sit or stand swallowing spoon-fed news over a breakfast Good Morning America's advertisers have paid big money to make certain George helps cover-up the collective pressing agenda of & gleam along with polished white teeth & pricey Georgetown haircut
Meanwhile. spraying off city sidewalks is the most refreshing Manhattan movement
meaningfully replicated elsewhere
Bees buzz - stoned on fresh pollen
Above jets dart transporting organic and in-organic matter world-wide.
most unaware beyond self-importance.
small batch coffee is brewing permeating the alley ways of life with a signature pungency
echoing in the caverns of memories like stale beer striking a stranger in a transient tavern but rather innocently as childhood discovery dunked like bread newly anointed in a cup of Morning-Joe.
Brooms help reinforce garden hoses used on sidewalks of last nite brushing away its dust & dirt
Walking down a certain favorite avenue to stroll down she feels sun-light hitting her face and then it's all happening in quick seconds of time as the sun-light blazes in her eyes and she is fully enjoying the way it is making her feel. ..

Sun stretches across the sky
as Tibetan Terriers remain as poised as a set of lions
at the sides of a colossal gate of an ancient temple in-tune with more than common
awareness surrounding
while people are doing a daily routine some sit or stand swallowing spoon-fed news over a breakfast Good Morning America's advertisers have paid big money to make certain George helps cover-up the collective pressing agenda of & gleam along with polished white teeth & pricey Georgetown haircut
Meanwhile. spraying off city sidewalks is the most refreshing Manhattan movement
meaningfully replicated elsewhere
Bees buzz - stoned on fresh pollen
Above jets dart transporting organic and in-organic matter world-wide.
most unaware beyond self-importance.
small batch coffee is brewing permeating the alley ways of life with a signature pungency
echoing in the caverns of memories like stale beer striking a stranger in a transient tavern but rather innocently as childhood discovery dunked like bread newly anointed in a cup of Morning-Joe.
Brooms help reinforce garden hoses used on sidewalks of last nite brushing away its dust & dirt
Walking down a certain favorite avenue to stroll down she feels sun-light hitting her face and then it's all happening in quick seconds of time as the sun-light blazes in her eyes and she is fully enjoying the way it is making her feel. ..
invigorating,
stimulating the senses
lubricating her spirit
& illuminating her mind's eye.
she releases when hitting the vortex

A giant web connects infinite sources of light within our universe

Headline News: from These Americana Blues in 2005 to TheNewEverydayMedia.com in 2015
at this point in 2005 writing the poems for "These Americana Blues" for MyStrawHat and TheNewEverydayMedia was when I started formulating the BIGnewEverydayMedia concept into real life, real time = this poem "Headline News" http://mystrawhat.com/American/Head.htm gave birth to my next "everyday" #everyday projects and then to "new media" #newmedia projects and then to "everyday new media" #everydaynewmedia (and a decade ago bought the domain name TheNewEveryDayMedia.com to use with mystrawhat.com)

it was the worst flood in the city's history
a devastating act of mother nature
and he couldn't cover it
he was stuck.
roads were shut down.
- flashing lights; no answers
"keep it moving!"
a block away and on this very day
a cult leader had 22 babies -
he claimed he was about to kill
if he didn't get his way.
the fanatical leader felt he needed to
decree that all cell phones be smashed
- as they were jamming his transmission -
he couldn't reach the mother ship and
holding the babies for captive was
all he could - all he could to focus
the 33 year old newscaster sniffed it out
as he was a block or two away
and was on the scene in no time
- there to capture this live.
and it was the flood of biblical proportions
and one of the fanatical spaceship cults
which occupied my headline news

"you have the ability to fire-off history like Walt Whitman; the sexual imagery of Henry Miller; and the navigational skills of Jim Morrison." - is what literary giant, beloved professor & expert psychoanalyst, Wallace Fowlie, stated after I read him some of my selected poems in his home in Chapel Hill, NC.
I phoned him later and asked him to put his reaction to my private reading in writing and this is what I received via the U.S. Mail. It sounds more scholarly & academic and more of what my father, Attny John Conte, would approve in regards to his poet / account executive son.
