A New Year Poem _ new poetry

A New Year Poem

From sunset to sunrise
From midnight to noon
From coast to coast
Low to high tide
It will be the New Year soon
For this New Year
Let’s make the most
Of our best selves
W/out any fear
And the best of health
What is wealth
W/out health
Put it in perspective
Go & live

Holding Up _ new poem December 2018

Fingers Point
Fingers flick
Fingers snap
And click
Fingers bend
Fingering a neck
Trying to find
A pulse
D A G
Sea
Of green
This isn’t
The end
When I’m feeling
Down
I got someone
She points me up
D A G
Sea of green
This isn’t
The end
This isn’t
The end
This isn’t
The end
I’m holding
Up

What We're Made Of _ new poem November 2018

As grains of sands are upturned and crash
Along the shores a cyclic tide recedes & goes
As rain falls all over me all over us and stuff
The revolution of wheels hitting highway
In front of me spraying windshield wiping away
I’m feeling honored to be an everyday poet
Working with people everyday to write poetry
Life is so fragile and we are filling in the details
What we picture in our minds here in our time
I’m fully aware and with intent to light the way
Help document who we are as a leave behind
So one day family, friends and strangers see

Our lantern light when all is dark along the path

The President’s Son _ New October Poem 2018

Fish scales
In between the
Cobble stone streets
They’ve been
Scaling fish there
For many years
At Faneuil Hall
People meet
A camera
Only gets the feet
Of the President’s son
He’s taking a meeting
With friends on ethics
Don & Kimberly not Eric
A Town Car stops me
Asks me to join them
Apparently they
Like my poetry
My mother she
Gives a speech
She’s unimpressed
She’s saying
It’s no big deal
Important men
Come and go
Speaking of
Her husband’s death
She tells them
His father
Had staying power
Late in the hour
It’s time for a drink
I was gonna take a swim
But they want me
To join them
Through the door
Walks Mr. Mick
I would’ve preferred
Keith but Mick
Is cool to meet
So you like my poetry
We drink and we eat
We talk about songs
We really get a long
Kimberly
Wants to get it on
I feel her bare feet
Under the table
On my leg
She feels how able
Like Anais Nin
And Wallace Fowlie
He told me
About women
Who enjoy
Testing a
Man’s virility
Oh Jesus
Have I fallen
Or is this
The new reality
So I said
Excuse me
Can you
Pass the salad
Please
Mick smokes a joint
And to me he points
Rather gallantly
He’s a poet
I guess I show it
Telling stories
About the old canal
From Pittsburgh to
Beaver to Lake Erie
Fish scales
They shine like
Silver teeth
Of old women
Sitting in a circle
Peeling fruit
For canning
In mason jars
The old women
They’re the stars
It’s getting late
I need more sleep
I go alone
Headed towards
Home
The night takes it
Easy on me
Nights ghosts
They like my poetry

Factual Evidence Why Mueller Isn’t on a Warrantless WitchHunt

Factual Evidence Why Mueller Isn't on a Warrantless WitchHunt

Mueller's principles

In 2004, while Attorney General John Ashcroft was in the hospital, President George W. Bush authorized the warrantless interception of domestic communications over the objections of the Justice Department. Standing on principle, Mueller, along with Deputy Attorney General James Comey, threatened to resign if the program's legal issues were not addressed.

Bush altered the program and Mueller continued on as FBI director. Mueller reportedly said about it: "There are days that go by, but not many, that you're not balancing national security against civil liberties."

Mueller threatened to resign again in 2006 after the FBI seized the records of Congressman William Jefferson, who was involved in a corruption scandal. Under intense congressional pressure, President Bush ordered the FBI to return the papers. Mueller resisted with a threat of resignation, again on principle – the FBI had seized the records with a valid judge-issued warrant. Bush relented, and Mueller stayed on as FBI director.

Whispers _ New September 2018 Poem

"Whispers"

There are whispers in shot of our ears

We tune in to try and cut out the static
Is it we want to hear
Do we really have it
Everyone’s trying to confirm
It spreads as does a Microsoft worm
Everybody is compromised
Drunk on gossip
Whispers in our ears
Tell us what we want to hear
The only one who knows has a blank stare
Observing lips moving from a glass
Ash tray up to his eyes like a giant lens
Feeling as if he’s staring at a fish bowl
They don’t know he knows
They think he’s dumb
He’s the only one though
He doesn’t need to whisper
His pulse is a voodoo drum

"Named Roses" _ New Poem August 2018

“Named Roses”

If I didn’t know before
I realize now
This is what I live for
Tell me how
You see I realize
It’s moments
With these roses
And sun
That are reflected
In my eyes
And that’s why
People have fun
With me
I’m enchanted
With the word be
Beauty

Such a Snake _ New August Poem 2018

Late one afternoon
It turned out to be a stick
Her heart was going zoom-zoom
It was dark black and thick
It made her inner thighs quake
Me I had myself a little laugh
She was so afraid it was a snake
Then I picked it up for a staff

Dissections

He had an easy smile
Despite all the muscles it took to make it
Compared to the muscles of a big arm
Like memories of home down a moonlight mile
He had an easy smile & didn’t have to fake it
Sharing trials & tribulations he also had charm
Mother Nature is superior to machined motion
Nerves, muscles + a good brain show emotion

Leonardo Da Vinci _ New July Poem 2018

His open hands reflected color into his eyes
He realized this and threw them up to the sky
A sky blue sky and thousands of green leaves
Some shimmering with hues of golden sun
It leaves you feeling something special inside
As you look up at blue sky and brilliant light
Seeing the flow of green leaves in the breeze
Stretching out in movement like a giant banner
The money would be useful from rich patrons
He did what inspired him with unusual fancy
He ran from her portrait rather than paint her
Painting instead the Virgin Mother and Jesus
Earth adorned by angels with hair so curly
Filled with emotion knowing Jesus will save us

One Eye Jax _ new June 2018 poem

A bullet grazed
My buddy
On the top
Of his head
Right here
On this hill top
Old One Eye Jax
Had his gun ablaze
He wanted him dead
And tried for a few days
Until his plans were stopped
By a sudden heart attack
It was too much for Jax
Who never paid him back
I guess he wasn’t gonna die
For winning Jax’s eye
Playing Ace’s High
Here’s where Jax
Tried to shoot you
Up on Coal Hill
With a view
But you wouldn’t die
On top of green grass
Under June blue sky
Now here’s where
One Eye Jax done lie

"Needed" _ New June Poem

“Needed”

Chords roam my mind
Like constellations in the sky
Sharp notes
Bright stars
Flat notes
Cloudy moon
Atmospheric elements
Which alter our mood
Translated through music
Grouping notes in harmony
Grouping words for poetry
Music & poetry here’s our song
It doesn’t matter if it’s short or long
Create it, say it, play it, share it
So the gift doesn’t go away
Being who we are everyday

#Omnipotent _ New June 2018 Poem

#Omnipotent

Everything on and of this Earth shares a similar fate.
Our processes for living are very similar if not exact in many cases.
The way we exist.
The way we exist at all.
Birth, breathing, feeding, being, breeding, existing, dying.
There are so many patterns to recognize

Moral Turpitude _ New June 2018 Poem

Question from South Western, PA
Via @KasieDC for @GOP
Dear DC, in SW PA parlor rooms
A question does loom
Is there a race to act like a buffoon?
It’s now June
And we assume
You know there’s much more work
To Do instead of running on
Being the world’s biggest jerk?!
Charge, Moral Turpitude

Sunday’s Thoughts

Sunday's Thoughts

Early morning
I saw a fawn
Eating leaves
Walking the dog
I saw a rabbit
Eating green lawn
I caught a ribbon
Of sunlight from dawn
And pulled it through
From my past to now
What have I become
A poet of the people
Giving voices to those
Who are forgotten ones
Some see useless flesh
Where I see a beautiful rose
I'm just being me
They are everyday heroes
I'm telling their stories
Mindful of history
Intently listening
Giving life to their words
I'm a poet making poetry
From unlikely sources
It's become motor memory
Mixing with new ideas
Galloping in perfection
As do wild horses

Dealing With the Darkness_ New April 2018 Poem

Dealing With the Darkness

It's easy to get sucked up & in
It's easy to forget how to win
Against the deep gravity of hate
A black stone in your throat you ate
It's so easy for fraud to be pulling you down
As a stooge you sing their song
They saw you coming around
And you're so prideful you took the bait
And in your heart are seeds of hate
A master weaver sows and plows along
While your negativity doesn't pull you through
The opposite of dark called light to the rescue
It's more than Ying & Yang needed to save you
Stop the verses that are cursing your victims
Your attitude towards life is more than just sins

Good wishes,
John

A One Term President _ Stormy March 2018 _ New Media Art

It’s still Lent
And we observe
At the Friday fish fry
It were the words
We so plainly heard
And We could see
After all these years on TV
People get to say to the liar
Mr. President
You’re fired!

“Flashing There” — New Poem March 2018

"Flashing There"

Crossing the street
Pedestrians and strangers
People having purposes
Stacked beer kegs
The delivery truck unloads
Walking into sunrise
On a cobblestone road
A pigeon's wings flap
The sound explodes
In my consciousness
Everything lost is now known
Stopping to write a poem
Tracing where the bird has flown
Like a worm through the hole
These words are now shown
Pulling thread filling the gap
These moments as fast as a flash
I'm not using a capo
Unless I want what's new to be old
Someone's story that has been told
When it's we who have really grown
Into something built to last
In the corner the evidence moans
Give it an hour to be exposed
In the darkroom taken with a flash
Oh there it is now again what a memory

Little White Lies _ New Poem February 2018

Little white lies
Is like holding
Little green nuggets
We're allowed to be high
In D.C.
We in the Government
Are the molding
Of perfect little spies
We're the Government
We can take a scolding
On Capitol Hill
Then tell the public
After we've scrubbed it
Swallow your little pill
You'll find the view
Is good for you
You don't believe me
We're on Air Force One
Have a seat
Look into my eyes i'll
Make sure you have fun
It'll come clean
If you believe
In little white lies
We tell them all the time
