JAC JR @ Indian Cave Crows Run 1990: Hunting Jacket, turtleneck & Flannel by Ralph Lauren
Here's what I was up to in the early 1990's. What a SAP? Huh.
Jacky Jukebox
Words by John Alan Conte Jr. & Music by Kurt M. Knaus
I wrote the lyrics to this song after blissfully waking up in the bed of
this girl in Milwaukee, Wisconscin in a top floor apartment nearby my
dorm-room. It was such a beautiful morning and nightbefore. I wrote these
lyrics and had a basic melody and then when I transferred into Penn State
University @Uni Park from Marquette University my friend Mike Durr had this
really cool roomate Kurt M. Knaus who played guitar. After a few days of
hanging out and discussing music, politics and pop-culture mass media = Kurt
had the music and the chorus and we played it @ a few parties in front of girls
and his big-room. The poem appears in the only non-published book of mine
called In This Place: a book of the nineties Though noted many poems from this
book was material I used for the many “live” poetry readings I did around the
country and which lyrics used for “live” shows & recordings @ Live Wire
Recordings (Fl.) with the Deerfield Beach, Fl. Band Post Face – This material
was also compiled with other poems to make up a selection Mr. Burns @ Freedom
Area High had me read to his honor & non honor English classes in 1996 (simply
called Poems for Freedom High). ..
Jacky was a jump start jukebox – loved his rock
N roll
Success pouring out from the stories he had
been told
Runnin’ w/ the wild crowd – seeing diamonds in the
snow
Sittin’ back in time so he could watch the
young grow old
Sun shine lit days - the clouds they never came
Until he saw his friends standin’ still not
doing what they will
Where’s the American dream of hot dogs and
Chevorlets
Of growing up to be president - just like USA
made
Jacky died to live it – Jacky always was the
show
Gather together to people to do the right that
we know
(Kurt
added the chorus and contributed all of the music)
Uh – Oh, oh – oh, jump start his world 3x
Uh – Oh, oh – oh, jump start his world

this in Spring of 1993 walking down College Ave @ PSU, Uni Park.

Looking into the water
What did I see?
Penetrating time
I fell in love w/ me.
You came by
&
Tried to pry me away
But looking deeper inside
Defiant I stayed
Best of the Roses but not rose
