If I lived in New York City

If I lived in New York City I'd want to spend today (this Sunday morning and afternoon) with you - listening to these tunes w/ Fox News Channel on mute while reading the NY Times lounging on comfortable sofas with bold fluffy pillows and a double leather ottoman on the hard wood floors complimenting the exposed brick walls where pictures of you - pictures of you and me and our dog - as a family - hang as they belong there and may have been there for years but, also, could be anywhere, anytime, anyhow --- And, when your triple venti latte and my quad espresso is all gone, we brew our own and keep drinking and reading and listening to these tunes until it's time to walk the dog outside the windows we've been gazing out over looking bark and writhing February branches of the park confined by a perfect cityscape --- And then we shower and dress and hold hands walking down Avenue A where around Sutton Place we stop for a kiss and I say, "I think I love you" before we head to a cozy corner table where the red wine and fare is a warming experience and doubly divine as it eases our souls like a wonderful Sunday should do

Pink Martini is a "little orchestra"from Portland, Oregon, formed in 1994 by pianist Thomas M. Lauderdale. They blend genres of music as Latin, lounge, classical, and jazz. Their music has often been described as "vintage music", a descriptive which reflects the content, style and period inspiring many of their songs.

sisters sipping espresso in Rome

The Puppini Sisters are a musical trio specializing in 1940s-style close harmony vocal music. The group has been described as part of Retro's futuristic vanguard and their sound described as swing-punk due to its being louder and more in your face than traditional swing music. The group has sought to be associated with a burlesque revival.

Peyroux's family was in academia, and she has described her parents as "hippies". Her father moved the family to Brooklyn when Peyroux was six so he could pursue a career in acting. She grew up in New York City and southern California; when her parents divorced, she moved with her mother to Paris

Peyroux started singing at the age of fifteen, when she discovered street musicians in the Latin Quarter in Paris. She joined a group called the Riverboat Shufflers, first by passing round the hat, and then singing. At sixteen she joined The Lost Wandering Blues and Jazz Band and spent two years touring Europe performing jazz standards. Her experiences provided the basis for her first album, Dreamland. The album was released in 1996, and gained widespread attention. Time called it "the most exciting, involving vocal performance by a new singer this year". Peyroux began opening for artists such as Sarah McLachlan and Cesaria Evora, and made appearances at jazz festivals and on the Lilith Fair tour.

Peyroux spent much of the next six years busking in Paris, performing occasionally in clubs in the U.S., and generally living a low-key existence. She continued to contribute to works by other artists, but rarely appeared in clubs under her own name.

February Nights

February Nights

The tumbler was full
Ice crackled like embers
On the buffet sat a half full vessel
Its contents – carefully hand crafted
Refined by process for intense character
Falling February snow was contrasted
Against an amazing bouquet of pink lilies
Candles burning, bunches of tulips in rooms
It was all so pungently fragrant and vividly
Left behind clues – romantic remnants of what
Was another St. Valentine’s Day come to pass
And more days still ahead with winter time winds;
New beginnings and hope for spring in a bird’s song

Luminous

She is another
From the past
- a newer friend
- a shorter past
Her presence is luminous
I’m looking forward to seeing her
And her beacon light of promises
I will be seeing her again tomorrow

Firstly, Julie Chen was so professional, patient and friendly w/ all the screaming fans of the Jonas Bros Band "Doing It Early" this fine morn ... (Julie = A++++++++++++) ...

And that may have been the first time I have tuned-in to anything Jonas = and those three young lads came-off like centered, down to earth, accessible young gentlemen. I was impressed by their composure, mindfulness and sincere gratitude toward the fans who put them there.

During the Q&A w/ some fans (where Julie was a real sweetheart and made me heart her more) I was really impressed w/ Nick's wise reply to one young girl, "Everyday Do Your Best" ...

Everyday My Megyn Kelly brings her "A-game" to work for FNC. She is definitely one of the most articulate, poised, mindful, engaging, dynamic, charming, exquisite and down right totally smoking red hot of the women of the new everyday media --- And, well, today just so splendidly exemplifies this = A++++++++++++++++++++++++

(and her appearance on Red Eye is still searing my brain)

Karin is an asset to CNN as she is a constant professional but also down-to-earth, acessible and fun (although the "seriousness" of CNN does not really allow for this but I do assure you when she was on FNC's Fox & Friends she was defintely fun if not crazy at times)
