The Way My Sisters’ Children Used to Play _ (first draft)

Everyday I work – I work everyday – I work everyday

The sunshine bends and falls through the windows –
Shining in mathematical messages across the rug –
On the wall by the stairs and on the dining room table
Where the four bottles of wine we just bought stand tall

I’m at home and am so grateful to be – to be me and by
Talking to you today I sit and know how lucky I am and
Have always been and love you and love-you-all and know

The way my sisters' children used to play
And made me laugh like “roman candles” in the summer night
In the velvet skies of July and across green, green Pennsylvania
The way my sister’s children used to play
And today is Saturday and I wanna feel fun
Like when I used to walk through the door of my parent’s home
And was greeted by laughter and smiles and kisses and hugs
The way my sisters' children used to play

Making me laugh like “roman candles” in July skies

I
loved you then and I love you now
So sorry I’m not around that much at all
But I love when we call each other and
Talk from satellites up in the sky – in space
I’m strong and a player in the race and
I know you’re so proud of us and well
I’m so thankful and grateful for you and
How we were able to play & learn & grow

I work everyday – as I saw you do everyday
And still know you work and love and pray
And still pay and worry and love and pray
I work everyday as I saw you do everyday – I work everyday
But today is Saturday and I feel the sun through the windows
Falling across the Oriental rug and wooden furniture like it does -
In mathematical messages I translate and use to promote my love
