Now Ain't That Love

my wife made me

walk from Knob Hill 

Hotel to Russian Hill 

to Ghirardelli Square 

But I didn't mind 

She had her wedding dress 

squarely on her mind 

So on the walk back 

we heard some old timey 

jazz that drew us in 

And had more wine.

Bodega Bay. Sonoma.

Kenwood. Jack London.

California wolf dogs.

Back to the city suite

Honeymoon. Swoon

I have had so many blessings that I can't even think of anything negative like strife.

But I heard you shall remain sharp and ready.
I've been a solid steady track record.

From clients like The Coca-Cola World Headquarters to HallMark to Merck Pharmaceuticals to Bayer Corporation; Police Departments; Universities to the Mom & Pop trucking companies down the road; nursing homes and specialty doctors.

Active in the World Affairs Council of Pittsburgh with directive from its president to champion Sub-Currents board; been on boards & committees to raise major dollars and help weave a tight communal tapestry.

Meets lofty shifting goal post goals; collaborates and works well with others always trying to elevate the status of peers by taking on more than my own interests.

Company guy always pitching in especially when a deficit .

Looking to be valued and not just liked.

Several high level and plain Jane references alike.

The Childless Father of Washington D.C. 

(Violence Is Selective Abortion)

She's a duck lips cynical cyclist 

standing five foot three inches tall

she dresses in tight black leather

with gloves & boots in case she falls

The circus keeps trying to recruit her

but she won't even return one call

Passing two calico cats that sit and purr 

she grabs the keys from the drawer

Outside in the back alley engines roar

On the other side of town a salesman reads

how there's 150 orphans who are so in need

In his home he fumbles the remote control tv

Gets off his knees, takes a rosary, forgets his keys

counting 1, 500 dollars taken from a shoe box

Doesn't need an uber lift with his shoes he walks

passing two Tibetan Terriers that bark on the block

Father Gallitzin in black with a white collar at the door

"Here, father, I wish that I could give so much more."

"It's okay, son, thank you for your inspirational gifts"

Then a dark leather figure of a duck lips woman rides by

The priest he looks up and places his hands in the sky

"My good son, please pray for her children when she dies"

As a garbage truck from the East Wing and the gang collide
