"Still Me" poetry & photography Newspaper piece November 2016

"Still Me"
Looking at my photograph
I know I can be anybody
But with memories
I see my past like a movie
I recall burning leaves in the fall
The smell of barbecue on the grill
The sound of water falls and rain
The taste of crispy turkey skin
Holding hands at the table at Thanksgiving
I see my eyes and they're the same
With my memories I'm "Still Me"
