Is Current Music that Relevant and Important? = Grateful Dead To Play PSU For OBAMA Fund Raiser...

Tickets go on sale Friday at noon for the Grateful Dead’s benefit show in State College for presidential candidate Barack Obama.

Surviving members of the legendary band announced earlier this month that it would reform for a fundraiser October 13 at the Bryce Jordan Center at Penn State University.

The event will mark the first time Bob Weir, Phil Lesh, Bill Kretuzman and Mickey Hart have played together since 2004. Band leader and guitarist Jerry Garcia died in 1995.

They’ll be joined by friends Gregg Allman, Butch Trucks, Jaimo, Warren Haynes, Derek Trucks, Marc Quinones, Oteil Burbridge and Jeff Chimenti.

Doors for the Monday night concert will open at 5:30 p.m.

Tickets are available through Ticketmaster and will run $50 for the general public, $30 for University Park students. VIP packages are available and start at $2,500.
