The assassination of Benazir Bhutto has refocused attention on Pakistan's stability and its implications for the world.  In the wake of parliamentary elections, President Pervez Musharraf seems to have lost his grip on power.  Where is Pakistan headed?  Where is it coming from?  What impact will developments in Pakistan have on its own region and the rest of the world?

Ethan Casey is an international journalist, author of Alive and Well in Pakistan, and currently working on a feature-length documentary film about Pakistan.  Between 1993-2001, he worked primarily in Southeast Asia, writing for publications including the Globe and Mail, the South China Morning Post, and US News & World Report.

He has extensive experience covering Pakistan for the Observer News Service and the Boston Globe and later was invited in 2003 to be a founding faculty member of the School of Media and Communication at Beaconhouse National University in Lahore, Pakistan.  Previously based in Bangkok and London, he now lives in Seattle.
