if I were like J.T. or like the Jonas Brothers I'd sing this song I dreamt for you ...

"a Bridge to Love"

I had to build a bridge
just in order to get to you
And now that I did
I've walked myself acorss
And what a happy man
am I

A happy man am I

What a happy man am I

Oh, girl,
how I need your love
And, oh, girl,
yeah, it's been rough
My world,
is now so complete ....

a happy man am I

(and I need your love everyday)

a happy man am I
(and, girl, I need you everyday)

a happy man am I
(I'll be there for you too, everyday) ....

Phone Art Series (III): Sunset Strip - the Morning(s) After

Photo by John French / Wine Press in West Hollywood, CA (Summer '08)
the past few summers when I stayed at Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood everyday I started off my morning with a stroll on Sunset to the Starbucks passed the HOB, the Hyatt (the Riot), the Mandrian and right next door to Saddle Ranch

Red, White and Blue
It's so cold on the East Coast right now and has been all winter long that this picture so "pops" big time - even for camera phone art ...

the Mummy and the Strip Club II

I have never ventured in this strip club - Though as I mentioned Saddle Ranch earlier, well, yes, it's a fun place for brunch and gets pretty crowded on a Friday and Saturday evening with a younger crowd - However, walking back to the Chateau from a place called Red Rock one night, I was propositioned by a prostitute and, in fact, she grabbed by junk in front of some people. She was trying to get me to tell her where I was staying - (yeah, right, like I was gonna do that) - But, you know, after all, she was just trying to make it ...

Hyde Lounge

(the night before this was taken Christina Aguilera looked so beautiful sitting there smiling with her eyes, teeth, lips and hair = She's even more beautiful in person = That energy she exuded just kickin' back and chillin' was infectious and so contagious = I got it) .... .... ....

(they said they placed me in this room because it was the largerst of the standard rooms with a king and a balcony however i think it's because the bathroom had this black & gold tile on the walls of the bath and i'm from pittsburgh, pennsylvania = home of the black & gold)

(there was a separate standing shower in the bathroom as well as a tub - with great water pressure and lots of hot water - along with charm i find that important)

Vintage

(that's me in the mirror and, yes, that's a mini bar to the right = a gorgeous one indeed = sure, i would partake from its bounty but i also walked down the street on Sunset to this little liquor and beer shop and bought my own Heineken Lite too and friends brought over some top shelf fifths)

Dearest Anna and Alison:

Do you know what I find fascinating, captivating and compelling about your "vlogging" on You Tube ??? (and I don't know if it's the Dramamine talking or not 'cause while looking up its spelling I learned that you can trip off of it and, well, uh, I had to watch all of your vlogs but I was getting a little queasy like motion sickness from the shaking camera so I thought a little Dramamine would help) The organic nature of it all is actually organically engaging to me --- You know, sort of like how the low budget Red Eye appeals to me ... of course, there is High-Def cameras and wizards in post production (PD)/ digital intermediate (DI) out there that can make shit look really cool and "pop" but, for me, that's not totally where it's at = if that was so I'd be some big "action flick" dude and be into all those movies instead of Sundance and IFC and documentaries and such ... Yeah, the raw, spontaneous, erratic and non linear work you two are doing is something I've always enjoyed and have felt there is not enough of in all mediums --- A lot of time over produced, over thought out and developed projects are just so boring, predictable and cheesy whereas it's more about formula and process than art that's soulful and engaging and relates to you in primal way that's rudimentary dynamic like the joy of "kissing dirt" (
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=by6uESG9TGg) --- I've argued w/ this asshole, bitch, c-word "producer" from this stupid show on HD Network that I was forced into talking with about how it doesn't matter if it's shot in HD and what kind of PD it goes through if the content is not there and I further argued that I can take a regular Digital 8 camera and capture more meaningful / meaningless magic that will stimulate and stir the echoes of the soul and chambers of your brain than the same old same old shit that people blindly do and is spoon fed to you ... ... (Yeah, and asshole, bitch, c-word "producer" from this stupid show on HD Network did not "approve" of my new everyday media projects - my Top Hottest Women of the New Everyday Media lists, my email write-ins, the replies I receive(d), mystrawhat.com and even my myspace page and a few rockstar friends of mine) ... ... ... ... Whatever !!!... ... ... ...

In any event, the Dramamine is really kickin' in --- I think I'm gonna go down to the river

Anna David and Alison Rosen "take an elevator ride and Anna tells a horrifying story"

All Alison knows is she'll be thinking twice before taking an elevator in England.

Both Anna and Alison are both Facebook and MySpace friends of mine = And, oh, do I relish their on line friendships ... They provide me with tons of delicious entertainment and even recycled content ... Both Alison and Anna are oft guests on one of the best shows on TV, Red Eye!

Both Anna and Alison are referred to as "Pop Culture Experts" --- And I was to meet both of them on an autumn trip to Manhattan --- I met with the gorgeous Anna and she was delightful indeed but the gorgeous Alison blew me off but sent me a delightful email saying sorry indeed ---

Anna has a book coming out on May 19, 2009 and can be preordered at http://www.annadavid.com/

And check out Alison's blog everyday at http://alisonmrosen.blogspot.com/

In Honor of Black History Month ...

Although at one time I may have celebrated Black History Month by listening to Run DMC's Proud to Be Black but I'm gonna take you way back with these Swinging tunes that are responsibly relevant for user friendly radio tunes you're spoonfed everyday ... ;)

For me music transcends societal barriers --- in 1982 I attended the "Fresh Festival" at the Civic Arena in Pittsburgh and saw Kurtis Blow and Dougie Fresh and Run DMC and the Fat Boys, etc. and at University I spent hours in the library with headphones listening to albums of African drumming and old vintage American blues oft played and recorded on front porches ...

With President Obama in the White House this Black History Month is especially poignant...

"Happy" I (1972)

Rare footage of the Rolling Stones boys listening to Happy in a luxuriant hotel room, smoking and playing their album - then it cuts to the stage where they are working on Happy live - and then it cuts back to the hotel room for a little discussion at the end - And then at the end one of the boys asks, "did anybody order some drinks."
Below "Happy II" is the more worked-out version and overall polished of the two clips.
