"A Vibrant Awakening of Memories" my published book w/ nursing home residents

I've included a picture of the book cover that my employer Mother Teresa Hospice / Progressive Home Health has just published (literally 2 days ago it was completed) comprised of selected poems I wrote with local area nursing home residents from when I started doing the poetry workshops January 31, 2016 - December 2016 which also includes testimonials form residents, family members of residents & staff members at the facilities. 

- in my Pittsburgh Poetry Workshops I conduct around greater metropolitan #Pittsburgh for long term care nursing home residents where we read and write poetry together - I have used many triggers to engage + stimulate memory & new ideas including by referencing Stephen Foster, reading his bio & playing his music. I've also referenced the Chatter Box at the William Penn Hotel and how Count Basie was broadcasted live from there to the world and I've used his music as well as other hot & sweet big band music such as "The Old LampLighter" and "The Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy."

Tucked away in books for a rainy day - perception that's not reality - until the doors of perception are cleansed

In theme and on paper burnt away like a dream

Legally disposed of so no one can judge and scream

Now we can see how things really are - infinite in all directions

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer caused a stir in February when he implied that the Justice Department might begin to crack down on recreational marijuana use in states that have already legalized it, and seeming to connect it to the opioid crisis.

Attorney General Jeff Sessions has decried pot use and has advocated a crackdown. In a speech last month, Sessions said marijuana was only "slightly less awful" than heroin, and he declared at a Senate hearing last year that "good people don't smoke marijuana."

Muted Sunlight _ new June poem 2017

"Muted Sunlight"

Muted sun at dawn

A bird chirping 

Diesel engine running 

Two sounds trying

Accents from hissing

Car tires and rain

Rolling by moving on

Inside the town

We walk around

Listening to sounds

Washing away the dirty

Remnants of a hurricane 

Who killed a 10 yr old 

In Alabama - Cindy

Lordy it was windy

In water muted sunlight 

Colored bulbs on display 

Inside a store window

Witness to misty rain

And outlines of hills

Clock tower in fog

Recalling he was once

A favored court jester to

The king until he died 

Then he realized he 

Was alone among spies

Feeling so alone and 

Looking for a home 

Every place he roamed 

The time was so real

Nothing sugar coated 

But a paid for trip

And the family seal 

Securing the deal

St. Stephen on stand by

In the garden with a rose

We Need the Truth & Nothing But the Truth from Jeff Sessions: How Did We Get Here

Dear @SenKamalaHarris @SenAngusKing @SenatorBurr:

respectively please ask AG Sessions if other than term "snake" are  rattlers & garters the same?

A top level law enforcement position as AG Sessions holds to keep US citizens safe must require capacity to distinguish a rattler Vs garter!

Our safety relies on specific classification such as "poisonous" & "nonpoisonous" to protect & prevent people from illness, injury, death!

So, if given the awesome responsibility of protecting people from snakes that can make folks ill & die, why bother w/non-poisonous garters?!
