Slanted Sunlight 

(Inside your head)

There are 23 choices 

Two or three wooden doors

You hear collective voices 

A familiar theme before 

Outside the house in Sun 

Opening the shed for fun

Morning promise is bright 

Standing in glory of light 

Everyone you've ever known 

Leads to a labyrinth of prayer 

A reflection of everything shown

Love uninterrupted on a conveyer

Mid morning with no shoes 

Drinking your cold coffee 

Thinking of shades of blues 

Grateful it's all there to see

The slanted golden sunshine ☀️ 

With its illuminating rays 

Elevates your frame of mind 

As colors appear in different ways 

Thankful for this time of day

Poisonous Beauty 

It's not a pretty cherry 

It's a kind, make you sick 

She sure looks like a cutie

A belle named Tootie Fruity 

But her bite, worse than a tick 

Paid good money, took a trip

Took a plane, took a ship 

But the advertising, was a trick 

A TV Star with a cheap gimmick 

Slick sheiks, snakes, oil & gold 

Belly dancers, silk, & story told 

Looks beautiful, tastes like mold 

Smells delicious but already sold 

There's no poison in your eyes 

They know no evil, know no lies 

A life of truth not for a prize

That feeling the sun will rise

Her grandmother is Creek

She likes when he speaks

You know that black voice crying in the inner light?

Her humbleness and pride decentralizing because of dehumanization

soliloquizing to the world in the name of nihilistic solipsism on his dusty wooden floor while he picks a splinter out of his barefoot

A lit candle attacking the night singing a fatalists delight

You know that black man

who cries in the distance?

that black man

no name

just that black man

cold bitter nights and blistering sorrows knows him just the same

As that black man someone living life

smiles and humbly without a name

however unfortunate

playing the game
